FSx for ONTAP Price Calculator
Instructions:
  1. Enter your storage requirements in the first 4 rows of the first column of the table.
    1. Total Storage is the total amount of storage you need in GiB.
    2. Disk Throughput to backend disks is the maximum throughput that can be sustained by the file system to its backend disks. When sizing, this does not include IOPS that are requested by the client(s) and served by the cache.
    3. Disk IOPS to backend disks is the maximum IOPS that can be sustained by the backend disks. When sizing, this does not include IOPS that are requested by the client(s) and served by the cache.
    4. Client Throughput to the FSxN is the maximum throughput that can be sustained by the FSxN to the clients requesting data.
  2. Enter the savings you expect from efficiencies in the next row. This is a percentage of the total storage that you expect to be saved by efficiencies such as deduplication, compression, and compaction.
  3. Enter the percentage you want in the performance tier (SSDs) verses how much will be tiered away to the capacity tier.
  4. If you plan to use AWS's backup service, enter the expected monthly change rate of the data in the next row. If you do not plan to use AWS's backup service, set this value to 0.
  5. Select the availability zone you want to use for the file system. Select MAZ to have each node of the HA pair(s) put into a separate availability zone. Select SAZ to have both nodes of the HA pair(s) put into the same availability zone.
  6. Select the region you want to use for the file system.
  7. Select the disk throughput SKU you want to use for the file system. The SKU affects not only the throughput to the backend disks, but also the limits on the IOPS and client side throughput.
  8. If the requirements can't be implemented with the current settings, then error messages will be displayed in red at the top of the page.
  9. Adjust settings to resolve errors. Typically, you can adjust the bottom three settings to resolve most errors.
